Adam Clarke underlined his superb season with a fine run in the South of England Championships at Watford last weekend clinching a bronze medal in the 5000m finishing in 15.31.43.
Also on duty this weekend for Sussex Schools in the South East of England Inter-Counties Championships were Louisa James winning the A string hammer in 44.88m and Lisa Normoyle throwing 27.58m to claim 3rd place in the inter girls discus.
On the track, Ross Skelton was second in the inter boys 3000m A race, clocking 9.19.4 and in the same age group Max Thomas had a strong run in the 800m finishing as 4th A string in 2.01.9 along with Craig Howard running 69.9 in the 400m hurdles finishing in 4th place in the B string.
Grace Baker had another strong run, finishing in 3rd place in the junior girls 1500m A race.
Hastings AC athletes Grace Baker (1500m), Adam Clarke (1500m), Louisa James (hammer), Stacey Clusker (1500m), Peter Henworth (polevault) have all now been selected to represent Sussex in the prestigious English Schools Championships in Sheffield on the 11th and 12th July where they will be able to compete against the country’s elite junior athletes.
