The following weekend  from Parliament Hill the same athletes were on club duty enjoying a day at the races in Plumpton in the second of the Sussex League fixtures.  Once again Grace Baker was in devastating form destroying the rest of the field and winning the under 15 girls race by over a minute in 17.37, followed by Lauren Ellis (11th, 21.08) and Chloe Reed (14th, 22.53) results good enough to give them second place in the team competition. Also in winning ways was Ross Skelton (17.52) crossing the line first in the under 17 mens event he was joined by Kris Everett (18.31) in third and Max Thomas (18.47) in 6th. This placed them as first team on the day and second overall in the series, a result that will need to be bettered on the next tow races to earn them team series gold. Holly Wheeler recorded her best Sussex League result coming home second in the senior womens event in 20.22 with Stacey Clusker (21.52) finishing in 11th and second under 17 and Amy Whittle underlining her recent improvement with a tremendous run finishing in 38th in 24.22. The under 13 boys and girls are also in the hunt for team medals. In the boys event Luke Cooper (12.50) was the first home in 4th followed by Ryan Hodd (13.02) in 7th and Anthony Donaldson 11th in 13.17, putting them in 2nd place on the day and first overall. They were joined by Alfie Jeffrey in 15.18 and 24th place. The girls A team went one better led by Louise Nash (13.44) in 4th, Katie Garland (14.02) 7th and Sophie Markwick (14.47 in 15th, good enough for first team place. The B team also ran strongly with Zoe Botting (16.44) in 26th, Beccy Haggar (17.13) 28th and Natasha Bird (18.39) making her club Sussex League debut in 35th.  The were some good runs in the senior mens event with Josh Varney have an impressive run finishing in 15th in 33.13 and Jamie Larkin looking very strong crossing the line not far behind in 33.37 and 19thoverall. They were joined by Keith Bossum (36.22), Jason Jeffrey (36.40) Bill Darby (39.20) and John Gatley (47.48).  The under 15 boys team also ran strongly with Ryan Higgs leading them home in 19.42 in 19th place , backed up by Jamie Ellis (20.02) 22nd and Sean Giff (24.11) 27
