The last of this seasons Brooks Sussex League Cross Country events was run at lancing Manor on 13th February. The final team and individual places were decided with Hastings Athletic Club coming away with a brilliant clutch of team and individual medals. First away on the day were the under 13 girls who needed a strong performance to hang on to their lead in the team event. Good runs from Louise Nash (5^th 12.44), Katie Garland (5^th 12.44) & Sophie Markwick (13^th 13.14) were enough to win team gold. Completing a strong Hastings AC contingent were Abigail Higgs (23^rd 14.47) and Zoe Botting (24^th 15.01). The under 13 boys were then under pressure to perform and were in with a slim chance of team gold. Ryan Hodd led them home 11^th place in 11.48, followed by Luke Cooper (13^th 12.02) & Anthony Donaldson (15^th 12.10) this was not enough for team gold but the points put them in sliver medal position, clearly ahead of third place Eastbourne. They were joined by Harry Reece finishing in 24^th in 13.25.

Grace Baker had already won the under 15 girls title with three wins out of three and chose to train rather than compete. The team were in third place and steady runs from Lauren Ellis (13^th 20.54) and Chloe Reed (14^th 23.14) were good enough to win team bronze. Also having the luxury of already winning his league title was Ross Skelton in the under 17 mens event. This left Max Thomas (2^nd 17.39) and Kris Everett (3^rd 17.48) to do the work. Performances good enough to give Everett individual bronze and the team sliver with Thomas just missing out on a medal in 4^th place overall. In the under 17 womens event Stacey Clusker secured individual silver with a fine run finishing in second place on the day in 20.43. On the same course, Holly Wheeler 2^nd place in 19.47 was enough to bring home an individual gold. Ryan Higgs was the sole Hastings AC under 15 boy and put in an excellent performance to finish in 15^th, his highest Sussex League placing. Andy Lamb had a good run in the senior mens race to come home in 23^rd in 32.53. He was joined by Keith Bossum (30^th 33.23) and Mark Reece (73^rd 38.19)
