What is the difference between the Sussex and East Sussex Cross Country Leagues?
The Sussex Cross Country League is our main league and takes place on a Saturday. Where possible and when demand is high enough we run a coach and it is a good team day out with everyone supporting each other. These are great if you want to challenge yourself in a strong field of runners and feel part of a national progression from County league matches, to The South of England Cross Country Champs culminating in the National Cross Country Championships.
These County Leagues cater for athletes from Under 11's upwards, and are a great introduction for kids to competitive running. They are age and gender graded distances of up to 5 miles and all abilities take part. Hastings Athletic Club also host the County Champs for the league which take place in Bexhill. For more information contact Becky Mabon or visit Sussex Athletic Association
The East Sussex Cross Country League runs on a Sunday morning and is open to running club members in East Sussex and is popular with many of our members. The courses are over a distance of around 5 miles and a good mix of challenging and scenic, and all abilities take part. A kids race is also available before the main adults race. Clubs accrue points throughout the League. For more information contact Jo Body or visit the ESCCL website
